Another life is invented here!

France has 58 regional nature parks. The Regional Nature Parks are organized around territory projects where the protection of heritage is at the service of local development.

It’s in this spirit that the Regional Nature Park of the Ardennes, carries out actions allowing to preserve the heritage while contributing to the economic dynamism of this territory. To achieve this, its project focuses on land use planning, management of natural areas, tourism development, support for sustainable agriculture and promotion of local products. Public awareness, a transversal mission of the Park, is also one of its priorities! The present website aims to inform users of the richness and fragility of the heritage we cross.

As the cradle of modern geology, the Ardennes Regional Nature Park is intimately linked to rocks and minerals. The telluric movements and the distribution of the rocks still explain the landscape and the distribution of human activities today. These movements have given rise to natural environments that are very different from one another, divided into 7 habitats and 5 landscape units. A diversity rich in an exceptional natural heritage recognized by 7 Natura 2000 zones and 2 National Nature Reserves. These environments are as many habitats for an exceptional fauna: roe deer, deer, wild boar, great horned owls, peregrine falcons, Tengmalm’s owls, alpine newts, muscardins, white storks and black storks… Its richness in flora reflects the diversity of its natural environments.
